These terms cover buying and using Jacobe apps. By installing or using an app, you agree to them.
The Jacobe apps and this website are provided by Craig Rooney, trading as Jacobe ("Jacobe", "we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@jacobe.co.uk.
When you buy an app, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it for your own personal or business use, on the Macs you control.
You may not:
We keep all rights we don't expressly grant you.
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who act as the merchant of record. That means your contract for the sale is fulfilled through Lemon Squeezy, and they handle payment, invoicing and applicable taxes. Their terms apply to the checkout: see lemonsqueezy.com/terms.
Prices are shown on our site and confirmed at checkout. Each app is a one-time purchase; there is no recurring subscription. We may change our prices from time to time, but a change won't affect an app you've already bought.
Some apps offer a free trial (currently 7 days). During the trial you can use the app to decide if it's right for you. To keep using it after the trial, you buy a licence. We may change or end trials for future customers, but this won't affect a purchase you've already made.
See our Refund Policy for the full detail. In short: every app has a free trial, and if a purchase isn't right for you, contact us within 14 days at hello@jacobe.co.uk and we'll refund it. Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy.
Nothing here removes the statutory rights you may have as a consumer, including any right to cancel a purchase of digital content within the period set by law.
We may release updates and improvements to the apps. We aim to provide reasonable support by email at support@jacobe.co.uk, but we don't guarantee that any specific feature will be maintained forever, or that an app will run on every future version of macOS.
You agree to use the apps lawfully and not to use them to do anything illegal, harmful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
The apps, this website, the Jacobe name, logo and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Buying an app doesn't transfer any of that ownership to you, beyond the licence described above.
We build our apps with care and want them to work well for you. To the extent permitted by law, the apps are provided "as is" and we don't make promises that they will be completely error-free or uninterrupted. This does not affect your statutory rights, including, for consumers, that digital content should be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or losses we could not reasonably have foreseen. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in question.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded under the law.
How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy policy.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. The terms that apply to your purchase are the ones in force when you bought.
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland (part of the United Kingdom), and the Scottish courts will have authority over any dispute. This does not affect any consumer-protection rights you have under UK law, or your right to bring a claim in the courts where you live.
